Laurie Wild

Caroline

Laurie Wild has both a BA in Acting and a Masters in Classical Acting from the Central School of Speech and Drama.  After graduating she worked consistently but found herself working more and more in children's theatre, discovering a passion and a talent for working with young people.

For the past twelve years Laurie has run the Show Barn at Willow’s Activity Farm, London Colney, writing, directing and performing shows for children incorporating puppets and music.

Since having her daughter, Ophelia, she decided to expand the parameters within which she works, taking her work out into the community and into homes.

Above all else Laurie loves and respects children and believes they are the best audience one could ever wish for!

Jim Thompson

new headshot b&w

Jim Thompson has a HND in Performing Arts from the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Newcastle College, Tyne and Wear.  Even though he was armed with an accent 'thicker than a whale omelette', Jim soon found his feet at The Harlow Playhouse performing in several pantomimes.

For the last 17 years (on and off), Jim has taught drama to children from the ages of 5 to 55, all around Essex.  He currently is an BTEC Acting Tutor at Creative Sports & Leisure in Canvey Island.

Jim has also been working for Laurie for the last 8 years at Willow's Activity Farm, utilising his experiences in puppetry and entertaining children to great effect.  For the last 5 years, he has enjoyed expanding that experience with Laurie at Walk On The Wild Side Entertainment.

He admits that he is very lucky to enjoy earning his living in this way... "it hardly feels like work!"
